ACADEMIC CREDITS


Earning Academic Credits

Students and teachers who wish to receive undergraduate, graduate or continuing education credit when studying at ICLC programs, must required approval from the study abroad office or from the language department at their College or University, prior to starting the program.

ICLC has established an academic relationship with the following universities and colleges in the United States:

These institutions give official credits to their students as well as to students outside of their institution. Students from outside institutions must follow the guidelines that have already been established between the sponsoring institution and ICLC, in order to earn academic credits.

All corresponding documents (grades, test and number of hours covered, language level and transcripts) will be sent to the Language Department of the sponsoring college or university by ICLC.

Students that are applying for academic credit must complete all the hours of language instruction. Attendance is compulsory. The evaluations will take place during class time. Written tests will be administered every week.

Decisions regarding specific course number, level, and grade will be made by the Department of Foreign Languages at your home institution, based on your transcript (s) and performance at ICLC Language Program. The Academic Department at ICLC will send to your home institution the Evaluation Report, transcripts and mayor exams.

The student applying for academic credits at ICLC must take a program that consists of a minimum of twenty (20) hours of classroom study per week and that you study for the amount of weeks required for the amount of academic credit hours sought.

Academic Credit Sought:

  1. Undergraduate
    • 3 hours (3 week language program)
    • 6 hours (5 week language program)
    • 9 hours (8 week language program)
    • 12 hours (12 weeks language program)
  2. Graduate:
    • 3 hours (3 week language program)
    • 6 hours (5 week language program)
    • 9 hours (8 week language program)

Credit fees must be paid at your home institution. During your studies abroad ICLC charges tuition that includes Spanish Language instruction and homestay. An US$ 50 fee (non-refundable) will be charge for academic credit paperwork.

Requirements from college / university students:

  1. an acceptance letters from the home institution,
  2. a 2.5 GPA or better, and /or good standing,
  3. all official college/university transcripts,
  4. college/university level coursework in Spanish, and
  5. receipt of the college/university fee

Before your departure, assure that all required documents should be sent to ICLC no later than one month prior to your planned beginning date of studying abroad.

All our courses have equivalences with the Spanish courses in your home country and ICLC follows the United States National Standards and the international assessment according to the ACFTL (American Council on the teaching of Foreign Languages) guideline. You may study Spanish at the novice, intermediate, advance or superior levels.
